A Summer Pause
Before diving into today’s reflection, I wanted to share a small personal update.
I’m about to begin my summer holiday and will be taking a break from publishing new articles here on Facili-station during the summer months. After a busy and rewarding first half of the year, it feels like the right time to pause, recharge, spend time with family and friends, and practice some of the very things I often write about.
I plan to return in September with fresh energy, new ideas, and more content on leadership, facilitation, collaboration, and personal growth.
Until then, I would like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful summer.
May your summer be sunny, relaxing, and insightful. May you find time to slow down, reflect, reconnect with what matters most, and create meaningful memories along the way.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and being part of this community. I truly appreciate it.
See you again in September.
Warm regards,
José Manuel Redondo Lopera

Summer is more than time off. It’s a unique opportunity to reflect, realign, and reset.
As professionals, leaders, facilitators, and humans — we spend most of the year doing. Planning, producing, responding, leading. But few of us spend enough time checking in with ourselves.
Summer, with its longer days and slower rhythms, offers something rare in the calendar year: space.
Space to breathe. Space to think.
Space to ask: How am I doing, really?
The power of me time
We often associate summer holidays with rest — and that’s crucial. But there’s another layer worth embracing: intentional reflection.
Not a strategy workshop. Not a performance review. Just a quiet moment to zoom out and look at your own life and work with fresh eyes.
This isn’t about making big, dramatic changes. It’s about reconnecting with the things that matter.
Five powerful questions for your summer reset
Are my goals still relevant?
The year may have started with big ambitions — but do they still fit? Are they aligned with who I am today?Am I heading in the right direction?
It’s easy to stay busy and still drift off course. Where are you really going? What are my true priorities now?
Not what’s urgent — but what’s important. What deserves your time and energy? Are my values visible in how I work and live?
Values shouldn’t live in documents or walls. They should show up in daily decisions. What needs to change — and what deserves to stay?
Maybe there are habits, commitments, or attitudes that no longer serve you. What are you ready to let go of? What are you proud of and want to keep?
A small pause can lead to big clarity
You don’t need a cabin in the mountains (though it helps!). Even a long walk, a quiet morning, or journaling in the park can give your mind the room it needs to reconnect.
Take your time. Be kind to yourself. This is not a productivity hack — it’s about integrity, direction, and joy.
Because the second half of the year is still unwritten.
So ask yourself:
🧭 What do I want the rest of 2025 to feel like?
🔄 What’s one thing I want to shift?
🌟 What’s one thing I want to celebrate already?
Let summer be more than a break. Let it be a turning point.
